My main hobby is Birdwatching (ornithology)
This takes me all over the country, within reason, in search of birds.
This is the Woodlark and although there may be prettier birds there are few which have a more delightful song. There are around 700 pairs of this bird breeding in Great Britain. They require open areas with a few scattered trees to act as song posts. Forestry plantations which have recently been felled and then replanted are ideal areas for this bird, and if the area between the trees is kept clear the site can remain suitable for many years.
I hope to improve this site and add more information on birds, habitats and sites. I include some links to birding on the Net.
